Our standard is useful, checkable home guidance that respects differences in homes and household needs. Updated: October 17, 2026.
Sources and fact-checking
For energy, electrical, appliance, food-safety, and technical explanations, we prefer government, university extension, utility, standards, and manufacturer material relevant to the topic. Sources should support the nearby point. General explanations and examples must remain distinguishable from individualized advice.
Editorial material
Organization systems, observation routes, comparison tables, and checklists may be original editorial work. Editorial guides must not invent tests, reader stories, experts, awards, ratings, or savings. Illustrations do not establish measured performance or the identity or qualifications of a real person.
Advertising and commercial independence
The site includes separately identified Sponsored / Advertisement placements and affiliate links. We may earn a commission from purchases through those links. Commercial cards and destination pages carry an advertising label.
